Left Geneva at 8 AM for Zermatt . Along the way I got off at Montreau and took a bus to the Chateau de Chillon which I toured for about an hour.
It had lots of rooms furnished with pieces from medieval times. There were not nearly as many pieces on display as in Zurich 's museum,
but these were very impressive because they were in their proper settings. My favorite was the parliament room which was spacious with tables around the room's edge.
This room could also be used for banquets. There was a two seater toilet which let the remains drop 15 meters to bounce of the rocks and fall into the lake.
The toilet is no longer used. It was a hurried trip because the weather was improving and I wanted to get on to Zermatt .
There were a few breaks in the clouds which gave beautiful views of the Alps.
