On the city tour we also went into a wine cave. That is, all but Dick who looked for birds.
Arrowtown, which is on the outskirts of Queenstown was a gold mining town. Now it is cute for tourists.
Sandy, being a gold mining aficionado, we came back another day to try to strike it rich.
Dick being a bird nut, we also visited Kiwi Wildlife Park.
Queenstown has a beautiful setting and makes its living from tourists - both in the summer and winter.
3) The rings on this tree commemorate the height of two different floods. Since the lake is miles long, that was a heck of
a lot of water.
2, 3) Sandy went into an underwater viewing area that is part of the tourist boat dock.
That's a New Zealand Scaup which is moving through the water so gracefully.
And the fish is a large trout. Another of many species that were introduced into this country.
