The original focus of this trip was the Grand Canyon, but it extended to include much more.

We flew into Las Vegas and then drove through the Mojave Desert on our way to California. There we visited our friends Vickie and Marijan who live 20 miles north of Hollywood. While with them we visited the La Brae Tar Pits, went on a great hike near their house, toured Hollywood, and wandered through Huntington Botantical Gardens.

Next we headed east into Arizona where we stayed in Quartzsite for the night, then on to Lake Havasu and London Bridge. We spent a day in Sedona which has absolutely beautiful scenery. This was followed by the Grand Canyon, which is very beautiful it its own unique way. We then took a slight detour to spend a day in the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert.

We finished back where we started - Las Vegas. Enjoyed the man-made sights, and headed home.
