The brightly colored garments of the Tanzanians, women balancing heavy loads on their heads, regal looking people: these are a few of our favorite things about this amazing country. So many interesting people, and so relatively few chances to photograph them! Many Tanzanians feel cheated if they are not reimbursed for having their picture taken. Fortunately, the villages we visited received financial incentives from our tour company, so we could take all the pictures we wanted there. And at market places and similar gathering, it was OK to take panaromic pictures. But singling out an individual from a crowd could produce hard feelings.

Suggestion - if you see a photogenic person while on your tour, ask you guide to help arrange payment of a dollar or two for a memorable photo.
