The National Gallery was my favorite museum in London. The musuems did not allow any photos of paintings. The following 3 paintings are by Gainsborough, Hogarth, Renyolds.
The Tate Museum now has a second major building, the Tate Modern. We liked both. The following photos were from the Tate Museums.
The two photos below are from the Tate Modern Museum. Photo 1 is its gallery of statues. As illustrated in photo 2, the building used to be used for generating electricity. While we were there, it had some great paintings by Matisse and Picasso.
The British Museum had artifacts of Britian, but also throughout the world.
The Mildenhall Treasure was discovered in a farmer's field.
Photo 1 shows some of the Sutton Hoo artifacts. Photo 2 shows an old chess set. Photo 3 shows Ramsses II. Photo 4 is Head of King Amenhotep III 1300 BC. And the last photo is the Rosetta Stone.
This is not the original Globe Theatre since that was destroyed in a fire. While there we say Mid Summer's Night Dream.
Close to the Globe Theatre are the very old remains of Winchester Palace.
