The vangas of the Vangidae family are small to medium passerine birds restricted to Madagascar and the Comoros. Most species are shrike-like, feeding on reptiles and insects. They build stick nests in trees and do not migrate.
Also tentatively placed in Vangidae are the following shrike-like species: flycatcher-shirkes, newtonia, philentoma, woodshrikes.
