Jan 5  Belville Riverwalk Park is on the Cape Fear River which is the northern border of Brunswick Counry.


We got this Nissan Murano to use as a second car while in NC. It looks great, but its 200,000 was near the end of its life as we discovered
Murano's have transmission problems. Sold it it a loss, but glad it is no longer cluttering our yard.


Feb 5 This police car is patroling Sunset Beach looking for debris from the Chinese Balloon that was shot down yesterday about 10 miles from here. The previous day we saw the contrails of the two jets that were waiting to shoot it down. Soon thereafter Dick saw the contrail of the
missle and head the exposion of its take down.


Feb 8 An interesting modular home that we might someday have placed near the cottage and thence sell our Ash house, possibly to one of Bobby Long's girls. We later decided it was much more cost effective to have Dan come down and build our own design. Later still Dick decided to act his age and we now both agree that our present house is mighty nice!

1) This end of Sunset Beach is bordered by theLittle River which is in SC
2) Cannonball Jellyfish 
3) Gambling Boat that leaves from the town of Little River. Saw another gambling boat today just like this one. Probably crusing by the sitr where the balloon was shot down.

March 1 Pycodont teeth found by Sandy at Holden Beach.
Pycodontiformes is an order of fish that existed between 40 and 200 million years ago.

March 4 Jeff Long took us on a tour of the Waccamaw River in his new boat. Video (download may take a while)


March 6-7 We celebrated Sandy's birthday early because that was when the great weather was - 80 degrees at the beach. We first ate at Anne Bonny's which is a floating restaurant in Wilmington. The we went to Topsail Island and stayed at a motel which also owned the nearby pier where lots of fisherman were. More photos.

6) Thhere was an enclosure of gators, but the rules would not allow Sandy to sit on one of those.
