Mammoth Hot Springs

On our way to Mammoth Hot Springs were passed by Yellowstone Lake and saw more great scenery.
The last photo is near Mammoth.

The hotel where we stayed is the the only one that is located in Mammoth Hot Springs. The rooms were old.
They had a sink in the room but not bathroom.  That and showers were down the hall. We loved the place.

This male elk and his haram set up camp in the town each night, and then returned to the wild in the morning.

Fort Yellowstone is in Mammoth Hot Springs. It was set up by the calvary to stop poachers and is not the central headquarters for the park.

The hotsprings are not something your relax in. The area is instead famous for the deposits that were left behind by the hot spring activity.
