Bastille Square was named in remembrance of the Bastille, but unfortunately there are no artifacts to observe at the square. However, the Opera Bastille is located there and is worth seeing. This replaces the previous opera house which is even more worthwhile seeing. The second photo is a mural that was taken from a very large mural in the Bastille Metro station.

When we visted Paris in May 2004, there was a market close to Place de Bastille.
