HOOVER DAM

About 5 miles below Hoover Dam, there is nice lake. The Bighorn Sheep crossing sign was a good predictor,
we did see a group of sheep as they were approaching the lake for drinks.

The Hoover Dam, named after President Hoover, was created during the depression as part of the WPA.

Upstream from the dam is Lake Powell.

Water does not flow over the dam, but is instead passed through tunnels to turbines that create electricity.
After we continued past the dam we had a nice view of Lake Powell.
