DOG SLED RACES
The Sandwich 60 is an annual dog sled race that starts in Sandwich, eventally crosses into Tamworth, and finishes almost 60 miles
later back in Sandwich. The race utilizes Erratic Trail as part of the route - we get to see the teams as they head out and
also as they are on their return trip. The photos below were taken at the start of the race.

At the end of Erratic Trail, the dog sled route bears left up a short but steep hill. At the top of the hill, the route crosses the southwest corner of the Reads' property. That is a good place to view the race, and for many years the Reads' have had a annual cookout there each race day. The last two photos show contestants going up/down that steep hill.
