DICK DANIELS AND SANDY COLE's World

HOUSE CONSTRUCTION

A North Carolina House prompted my design

Our house lot had many, many rocks.

Rocks piled in front for future stone wall. Erratic in middle of future cellar.

Over 300 truck loads of gravel were dug from a gravel site on the property. Dick did that backhoe work, Bill Read trucked the gravel to the house site, and Dennis spread the gravel.

These photos show the construction of the foundation, plus the effects of adding more and more gravel to the site.

CREATING THE FRONT STEPS

Dick put in a crushed stone which was covered with concrete.
